Sail the Caribbean!

Here you can find your own private paradise, with incredible natural variations within a quite limited area: Long white beaches, palms, rain forests, volcanoes, waterfalls… And coral reefs so teeming with colorful life, it's like snorkeling in the world's largest aquarium. Only this is for real.

Then there are the cultural variations! Spanish, English, Dutch, French…all mixed together, like small separate states with an intriguing past from the colony times.

So many opportunities

With seven bases throughout the Caribbean, there is hardly an island that is out of reach with a yacht chartered from Stardust Marine.

A sailing holiday is not just about sailing! You can sail within a group of islands, or make a longer trip between separate groups. Don't worry about bringing the boat back - you can leave it at the next base. Freedom is what a sailing holiday is all about. Freedom to sail as much or little as you like, where you like, when you like. Some of us avid sailors cover hundreds of miles in a week. Others sail a couple of hours, drop the anchor, and spend the time exploring new places. There is no "right" or "wrong" way of doing this. Set you own pace. Enjoy your freedom!

The islands of the Caribbean

Cuba

From the summer of 1998, we have been offering charters from our base in Cuba. Here is a chance to do something out of the ordinary - and wonderfully so.

The Spanish Virgin islands

The largest islands in this group are Puerto Rico, Culebra and Vieques. The Stardust Marine base is in Puerto Rico.

The Windward and Leeward islands, and the GrenadinesThe British Virgin islands

This group comprises more than 70 islands, and you won't have to sail in queue into one of the many idyllic anchorages. Among the larger islands are Jost van Dyke, St. John, Virgin Gorda, and Tortola - where Stardust have their base. This is also where the airport is located.

The Leeward islands

The small Dutch island St. Martin (St. Maarten) is where you set sail for a cruise of these beautiful islands, which in addition to a number of small islands includes Anguilla and St. Barts. But St. Martin can also be used as a starting point for a longer trip, for example to Tortola in the British Virgin islands, or to Guadeloupe. This island also has a Stardust Marine base, as does Antigua!

The Windward islands

Start off from the Stardust base on Martinique. Now you're in France! In fact, this islands is often describes as more French than the mother country in Europe. From here, you can make a round trip to the nearby islands of St. Lucia and St. Vincent, or sail on to…

The Grenadines

This group of islands has its name from the southernmost island in the Caribbean, Grenada. However, the Stardust Marine base is found on tiny Union island. It is located in the center of the group. An excellent place to start off from for cruise around the many surrounding islands.

The Climate

Warm, but not hot. The wonderful summer temperature is very stable throughout the year. That makes for pleasant swimming and snorkeling as well!

Sunshine all year round...The winds are gentle in the Caribbean. From November to January there is usually a 15-20 knot breeze from the northeast. They become more and more easterly as the year passes, until June sees 10-15 knots from the southeast.

Rain showers are possible any time of the year. They last just long enough to leave a rainbow.
