Hanging loose
The heat will never really bother you on a sailboat; no matter how hot it gets, there is always that breeze to cool you off. But on calm days (I usually put the limit at a boat speed of 4 knots) nothing is more refreshing than hanging off the boat like this. And I promise you, you'll hold real tight when a gust of wind fills the sail and makes the boat accelerate!Just don't do as Mr Stein Forsdahl did on this trip. When he dozed off in the sun, there was hardly a breath of air, and people were doing exactly what you see in the picture. An hour later (just a blink of the eye in Stein's mind) he woke up, and without hesitation threw himself overboard - it's an excellent way to wake up. And wake up he did, when he realized the wind had picked up considerably, and the boat was now travelling at six knots, the rope safely tucked away beneath the cockpit seats.
And for those of you wondering: No, there are no man-eating sharks in these waters!
